The Wea Township Trustee's Office provides emergency assistance to township residents experiencing financial hardship, in accordance with Indiana Code 12-20.

What we can help with

Eligible Wea Township residents may receive assistance for basic life necessities when other resources are not available.

  • Rent and housing emergencies
  • Electric, gas, and water utility shutoffs
  • Food assistance and household necessities
  • Burial and funeral assistance
  • Limited prescription assistance

How to apply

  1. 1

    Call to schedule an appointment

    Call the Trustee's Office at (765) 474-2500 during business hours to schedule an intake appointment. Walk-ins cannot be guaranteed an appointment the same day.

    Gather your documents

    Bring all required documents to your appointment. Incomplete applications cannot be processed.

  3. 3

    Complete the application

    Meet with a caseworker to complete your application. The Trustee will issue a written decision within 72 hours.

  4. 4

    Receive your decision

    If approved, payment is generally made directly to the vendor (landlord, utility company, etc.). You will receive a written notice of any denial and your appeal rights.

Documents to bring

Bring these documents to every appointment. Originals or clear copies are accepted.

  • Photo identification for all household members
  • Proof of Wea Township residency (lease, deed, or recent utility bill)
  • Proof of all household income for the last 30 days
  • Recent bank statements
  • Copy of the bill or notice you need help with
